Quit Now

Are you interested in stopping smoking or chewing tobacco?

Everyday people quit using tobacco, and you can too!

Tips and Strategies to Quit

  • Be clear on why you want to quit. Write down your reasons. Quitting tobacco has immediate and long-term health benefits.
  • Keep track of when and why you use tobacco. Discovering what your triggers are, can help you prepare or avoid them. Stay away from situations that will tempt you.
  • Pick an official QUIT DAY! Get a calendar out and circle that day. Do not pick a day that will be highly stressful, and do not pick a holiday.
  • Come up with a quit plan! Decide how you will quit, do you want to do it “cold turkey”, with nicotine therapy, hypnosis, community support group, online program, or one-on-one telephone support.
  • Plan ahead, take a walk, go places that are smoke free, talk to a supportive friend, use stress management techniques.
  • Just Quit! If you do slip and use tobacco, don’t give up. Pick up where you left off. You quit once, and you can do it again.
